Job Description:

The Service Writer is responsible for meeting customers and accommodating customer requests pertaining to repair and/or servicing of their motorcycle. The Service Writer is a key player in the dealership for generating positive customer relations, through communication and follow-up to customers on status and charges for repairs, and to promote service sales through communication of information to customers on maintenance and repair needs that are identified during the service appointment process.
Job Duties:

  • Determine problems by listening to customer's description of symptoms and clarifying description of problems
  • Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers, explain provisions and exclusions
  • Develop estimates by pricing materials, supplies, and labor
  • Calculate customer's payment, including deductibles
  • Prepares repair orders
  • Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle, obtaining customer's approval of estimates, obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers, answering questions and concerns, updating customer on vehicle status as required
  • Follow BAR guidelines
  • Up-sell needed maintenance and accessories
  • Perform a comprehensive re- delivery check of customer vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and that all items identified from service/repair have been carried out appropriately and on schedule.
  • Maintain the Service Bike Inventory Log and current shop schedule appointment book.
  • Dispatch all repair orders through the service department.
  • Know all warranty procedures and assist the Service Manager in filing these claims as needed.
  • Understand and process extended warranties and maintenance contracts from start to finish.

Be able to perform the following on all makes and models, mostly newer (1990+)

  • Oil and filter changes
  • Minor collision repairs
  • Spark plug replacement
  • Brake pad replacement
  • Chain installation
  • Tire changes
  • After market accessory installation


  • A valid CA drivers license with motorcycle endorsement
  • Ability to read service manuals and schematics
  • Minimum of 4 years motorcycle dealership experience
  • Dependable and self-motivated to make money
  • MMI or equivalent
  • Ability to use common sense and an understanding on how to carry out requested duties
  • Manufacturer certifications are a plus

The Motorcycle Apparel and Riding Gear Associate will assist customers by sharing their expertise on apparel and riding gear associated with our brands Triumph, Ducati, Suzuki, Slingshot, Victory, and Royal Enfield. We carry an extensive selection of branded apparel, accessories, and parts - sold both in store and online.

Job Description:

  • Technical and casual motorcycle apparel and riding gear sales to in-store customers, phone-in customers, and internal departments
  • Educate customers on and sell motorcycle gear and apparel
  • Inventory management including ordering, receiving, and cycle counts
  • Create, maintain, restock, and organize displays in showrooms
  • Follow up with customers on special order items and status
  • May include sales at outside events
  • Participate in training, seminars, and staff meetings
  • Other duties as required

Candidate Requirements:

  • Retail experience required
  • Dealership experience a plus
  • Lightspeed NXT experience a plus
  • Enthusiastic person who can effectively multi-task while working independently
  • Great communication skills and able to provide excellent customer service in person as well as by phone and email
  • Strong attention to detail for showroom displays
  • Ability to take initiative, self-motivate, upbeat personality, and interact with a wide range of people and personalities


Full-time position, Tuesday - Saturday. Hourly plus commission. Benefits include holiday and vacation pay, employer subsidized medical and dental, employee purchase plan, and AFLAC.
